In order to be eligible to work legally in Thailand as a teacher, you must hold the non b type visa, work permit and teaching permit.
If you initially hold the other types of visa, you need to leave Thailand to the neighbouring country to acquire the Non Immigrant B visa. We will collaborate with the school to prepare the documents before your departure. It takes 2-3 weeks to complete the document preparation process.
According to the Thai government, you need to have the teaching license in which you can get by taking a course with “Teacher Council of Thailand”. However, in the case that a foreign teacher decides to be a teacher for the first time, the school can help to obtain 2 years temporary teaching permit so that the foreign teacher can teach without full teaching license. If you relocate or change school/employer, the teaching permit will be invalid and you have to reapply. Please be aware that you are able to obtain this teaching permit 2-3 times only, after that you have to take a course and pass the exam in order to get full teaching License. Only a teacher with degree qualified by Teaching Council can apply teaching permit, on-line degree tends to be rejected. You can apply for the work permit only when you are authorised the permission from the teachers council of Thailand.
When you received the work permit, you have to bring the document to apply for one year visa at the immigration of the province that the school is situated in. The length of visa granted will be according the period of the contract you signed with the school.
